近くに住む住人からの証言で被爆樹木として登録されました。幹の中は空洞で、上部の幹が折れて無くなり、残った幹から芽が生えて伸びている状態です。河川敷に生えているため、状態も悪く、樹勢回復が可能な状態でないため、手を加えることなく保存されています。
This tree was recognized and registered as a hibaku tree based on a testimony by a local resident who lived nearby. The trunk is hollowed and the top half of the trunk broke off; new shoots grew from the remaining trunk and continue to stretch and grow to this day. As it’s currently growing on the banks of the river, the tree itself is not in the best condition: it is currently being preserved without human intervention, as there is no hope that it will survive.
