老木のソメイヨシノですが、大切にされ毎年美しい花を咲かせています。移植されていない被爆樹木の多くに見られるように、この木も爆心地方向に傾いています。

This old cherry blossom tree has been well cared for over the years, and every spring, beautiful pink cherry blossoms bloom. Like with many of the hibaku trees which have not been replanted, it leans in the direction of the hypocenter.

この敷地内で被爆し、移植されました。現在校内には、同じように移植された被爆クロマツが合計5本あります。それらほとんどの幹にある傷は、戦時中航空機燃料にするために松痕油（マツ脂）を採取した跡です。

Surviving the bombing inside school grounds, these trees were later replanted. There are five replanted Japanese black pines that survived the bombing inside the school grounds today. The scars on their trunks are mostly from where they extracted pine resin to make pine oil, which was used as airplane fuel during the war.
